BARCLAY THEATRE AWARDS 2002 are announced.

The nominations for the Barclays Theatre Awards 2002, presented by the Theatrical Management Association, are announced. These prestigious UK awards are for excellence in all aspects of regional theatre. Theatres throughout the UK have participated in the Awards and more than 1,000 productions have been seen. This year's nominees include Amanda Donohoe, Diana Quick, Pete Postlethwaite and Corin Redgrave.

This year's Awards Presentation will be held on Sunday October 13 at the Linbury Studio Theatre at the Royal Opera House, London at 5.30pm and will be hosted by the comedian and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig.

Following the Arts Council of England's Eclipse Report on strategies for combating racism in theatre, the Barclays Theatre Awards are proud to introduce the new Eclipse Award to recognise an organisation or individual whose work furthers the aims of the Report. Applications are now being invited for the Eclipse Award and all entries will be considered by a panel of judges appointed by the Theatrical Management Association. The winner will be announced at the Barclays Awards Presentation.
