Cabin crew meet musical theatre - a marriage made in Edinburgh .
Fresh from a sell out run in Edinburgh Jet Set Go! flies into Battersea’s Theatre 503 with all the subtlety of a Jumbo Jet based musical. Following a flight crew on a transatlantic journey to New York, the pilots, stewards and hostesses sing, flirt, whine, serve drinks and then whine some more. Jet Set Go gets no deeper than this but with an Edinburgh length performance it keeps the laughs flowing and even allows a little time to scratch the surface of their lives.

The music is mostly upbeat, always witty and delivered by a perma-grinning hostess or one of the camp stewards. Opening with inspired, fun choreography, based on the pre-flight safety demonstration, sets the tone for the next hour and it doesn’t get time to disappoint.

While the characters are one dimensional little more was required. Kaytee Crook excels as the fiery salsa dancing Puerto Rican who loves the far too cool pilot Tom Lee; While Nick Corks loveless First Officer masters the hangdog expression, Alex Johnson delivers camp boy band looks while strutting around in just his pants; Maddie Moates excessively excitable and flighty first time hostess is an innocent delight however Katie Birtill, as the obligatory dim one, is a constant musical comedy pleasure and her solo worth a night out all on its own. Definitely more please!

Jet Set Go is a frequently hilarious musical homage to the cliché of the cabin crew which should please most, except maybe cabin crew who luckily should be staying over in foreign hotels, seducing each other, shopping and not taking in cutting edge and seriously funny fringe theatre.
