LESBIAN AND GAY PLAY COMPETITION: Closing date 1st December 2002
ReviewsGate has been sent details of the 2002 Newham Lesbian and Gay WRITING OUT AWARD.
The third annual nationwide competition to find the best original stage or screenplay on Lesbian and Gay themes, under the directorship of leading gay theatre director Phil Willmott, funded by the London Borough of Newham.
Entries from writers at any stage in their careers are invited to submit relevant, complete and unperformed scripts by December 1st 2002

Last year's winner: YOU DONT KISS by Troy Andrew Fairclough
The scripts considered most promising by a panel of industry professionals will be awarded a 1st prize of 1,500 With 2 runners up prizes of 500.
The first prize winner will receive a showcase presentation of their script at a prominent London Theatre.
Last years winning play You Dont Kiss by Troy Andrew Fairclough went on to be produced for a three week run at Stratford Circus starring Cornell John, Trevor Laird and Gilz Terera, where it received glowing reviews and Troy was signed by a major literary agency.
