The idea of a dramatic text's about to take on a new meaning for audiences at York's repertory theatre.Under a new deal with direct marketing company mkodo (www.mkodo.com) the Theatre Royal's developing a text messaging for ticket sales via mobile 'phones. And to give the scheme a kick-start, the theatre is offering discounts, priority booking and news direct through mobiles.

Using a new technology, SMS (smart marketing systems?) the aim is to develop the service for ticket booking and to offer preview clips from productions on mobiles.
